Based at The University of Manchester, MLaTI provides a unique space where legal, technological, and business perspectives come together to tackle the challenges of digital transformation.

The Manchester Law and Technology Initiative (MLaTI) is a cross-disciplinary platform uniting law, computer science, and business expertise in collaboration with external partners to address the rapidly evolving relationship between technology, regulation and legal services.

In addition to research-oriented policy and industry impact, the Initiative actively supports The University of Manchester’s mission to equip graduates with the experiences and skills to successfully engage the challenges facing the next generation workforce.

The Manchester Law and Technology Initiative (MLaTI) is the first academic–industry consortium dedicated to shaping the future of legal technology and innovation.

Powered by industry membership, we fund cutting-edge research, run interactive workshops, and publish thought-leadership on the biggest challenges and opportunities facing the sector. 

Members gain access to world-class expertise, a collaborative forum for knowledge-sharing, contributions to national policy debates, and direct engagement with University of Manchester talent through projects, placements, and internships.
